What does Mattisson Healthstyle do?

At Mattisson Healthstyle, health is our priority. Since our founding in 2001, we have aimed to promote what we call a Universal Healthstyle: a lifestyle that is comprehensively healthy and beneficial for consumers, the environment, and everyone in the production chain. We offer a complete range of natural and organic health products, from protein, enriched powder drink, vegetable oils, snacks, and gluten-free flours to fruits, herbs, and quality supplements. Our products are all sustainable and carefully selected to help support our world, while giving our customers the best.

What is your vision? Why did you decide to focus on this market?

Before Mattisson, I worked with a vitamin brand that often took me to America. When I observed how common unhealthy lifestyles were, with diseases like diabetes on the rise, I saw a possible solution: high-quality nutritional products available on a widescale. This led to Mattisson: by offering alternative food sources with high nutritional value, we are achieving what we set out to do.

Our passion for health also impacts our thoughts on quality. At Mattisson, we always go for the best. In fact, with us, quality comes before price across the entire chain. At regular supermarkets, things are often the other way around, so the chance of lower quality products is higher. Take, for example, matcha powder: the sugar and carb content depends on the processing method. The question, then, is: do we choose the better, healthier product, or do we choose the cheaper solution? Mattisson always chooses the best quality, because we believe that it is healthier. For everyone.

Who uses your products?

Our products can be used by anyone looking to maintain a healthy lifestyle. For those who want more energy in their daily life, or for elite athletes performing at the highest level, Mattisson’s products can play a key role in a healthy routine – from flour for baking to protein for muscle building.

Today, more and more people are beginning to focus on their health and fitness. We’ve come a long way in ten years, it’s hard to imagine! We’ve carefully selected our products to fulfil the needs this growing group of casual lifestyle consumers encounters in everyday life. With our products, customers can have optimal breakfasts, lunches, dinners, or snacks that can help them maintain their routines and live the best life they can.

Why do consumers love your products?

Aside from the overall high-quality, sustainability, and health benefits, our specific blend combinations are very attractive to consumers. For example, two popular choices are fish collagen with vitamin C and hyaluronic acid, and bovine collagen with vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, MSM, calcium, and magnesium.

Why did you decide to launch a collagen product in your portfolio?

To put it simply, we saw that a new space was opening in the market for collagen products. More and more people are trying to become fitter and healthier, encouraged also by influencers across the digital world. At the same time, more people are recognizing the value of collagen for health and fitness. So we expect that products with collagen inside are likely to grow in popularity in the future.

How do today’s consumers view collagen?

While a lot of today’s consumers see collagen as a beauty product, the benefits of collagen are wide-ranging. A product like Peptan can be used to impact consumers’ overall health, as well as targeting specific areas like joint health, sports recovery, beauty, or skin health. That’s why our co-branded products are marketed towards these areas as well, not just beauty.

Why did you choose Peptan?

For us, the bioavailability of Peptan collagen peptides was a key factor in our decision. Peptan’s high bioavailability has been demonstrated, and this gives us the confidence we want as we move forward: it shows us that Peptan will have a strong impact on our consumers, as well as being a high-quality, science-backed product.

What do you like about partnering with Peptan?

One of the most attractive aspects of working with Peptan is its reputation as the world’s leading brand for collagen and collagen peptides. Our partnership with a premium brand that is well-known for its high quality products gives our customers confidence, as well as making it easy for them to find more information about the products. Can you tell us more about your communication strategy?

Usually, our promotional campaigns go through wholesalers via Facebook, reaching up to 7,000 consumers. If we want to communicate information about the health benefits and efficacy of our products, we work with ambassadors. They can speak about their own experiences with Mattisson products, adding social proof and an important personal touch.

How have you been marketing your Peptan co-branded products?

Alongside our normal marketing channels, we were really excited to launch a joint Instagram campaign with Peptan. The campaign featured a well-known Peptan ambassador, Dutch field hockey player Bjorn Kellerman, a World Championship and European Title winner. We offered consumers a chance to win Mattisson products containing Peptan, as well as a Peptan bottle. To win, each contestant had to like a post on Bjorn’s Instagram, follow Mattisson and Peptan, and tag two friends. The winners were announced just last week. It was exciting to partner up with an athlete of Bjorn Kellerman’s profile with such a wide social media reach.

What’s next for Mattisson Healthstyle? 

In the future, we hope to launch a Keto lifestyle range. The keto, or ketogenic, diet has been growing in popularity across the world in recent years, and we hope to enter the market soon. As this trend develops, products that suit the keto diet will grow in demand: for example, collagen like Peptan’s could play a role, thanks to the significance of pork to the keto diet.
